Danielle Nathan doesn't melt anything down. Every piece in this collection — each bead, brooch, charm, and stray earring — stays exactly as it was, hand-placed into a silhouette that only comes together when you step back. Get close, and you can still trace where each individual piece came from. Step back, and it's a fish. A lobster. A bear built entirely out of somebody else's jewelry box.

That tension is the whole point. Danielle sees it as a small stand-in for how people — and nature, and pretty much everything — actually work: made of distinct, unrepeatable parts that only add up to something larger when they're allowed to sit together, differences intact. Nothing here was smoothed into sameness to fit the shape. The shape found room for all of it instead.

Danielle's lobster skews formal — deep garnet and coral beads throughout, with actual gold vermeil chain forming the legs and antennae, not costume-grade stand-ins. A cluster of gold star charms sits mid-body like a badge of honor, and one claw holds a small round medallion stamped with a flower, gone soft and worn at the edges the way only genuinely old jewelry does. A single red pearl catches the eye near the head — the kind of detail that reads as a wink if you know to look for it, and just a nice bead if you don't.

It's easily the most decorated piece in the Beach Collection, which tracks: nothing else in the tide pool wears this much jewelry to begin with. The piece is displayed in an 8” × 8” distressed white shadow box with an acrylic front, giving the whole thing a sense of having washed up and been framed exactly where it landed.

Danielle Nathan spent years building a career in corporate banking and software engineering — solid work, but not the kind that left room for the parts of her that wanted to make things. Based in Buffalo, NY, she's always been drawn to nature, animals, and travel, and somewhere in that pull toward the wider world, she found her way to reinvention — not just of herself, but of objects other people had already decided to let go of.

Danielle calls herself the Boho Banker, and her art is built entirely from reclaimed jewelry — sourced from estate sales, thrift stores, garage sales, wherever inspiration happens to turn up. Each piece starts as a pile of orphaned beads, brooches, and charms with no obvious connection to each other, and ends as a silhouette: a fish, a bear, a skull. Every individual item is chosen and placed by hand, close enough together to form a recognizable shape, loose enough that you can still see where each piece came from if you look.
