We don't entirely know why a fair-trade workshop hand-crafting bags in Romania decided to give them a British name. Local truckers there would call their rigs a camion or a TIR, but "Lorry" is just UK-speak for a semi-truck—and we figure it just sounds a little fancier. (A tote by any other name would carry just as much.)

The material itself is pure highway history: lorry tarps are the heavy-duty, flexible vinyl tarpaulins strapped over European freight trailers to keep cargo bone-dry through thousands of miles of weather, potholes, and questionable weigh-station coffee. Because these trucks haul heavy freight instead of just wind, the material runs thicker and heavier than standard billboard salvage.

Once a tarp's long-haul road days are finally done, DECE's artisans in Northwest Romania hand-rescue the material and give it a spectacular second career. Meticulously cut, cleaned, and rebuilt, these bags are ridiculously sturdy, highly water-resistant, and tougher than anything you'll ever find rolling off a standard factory line.

The Lorry Shopper is built from that same repurposed tarp, paired with sturdy 2cm webbing straps and a soft cotton interior lining. Inside: a zip pocket for what you don't want sliding around, and an open pocket for what you need fast. At 16" × 12" × 8" (40 × 31 × 20 cm), it's roomy enough for a real grocery run and built to survive years of them.

Because every bag starts life as a different stretch of tarp, no two Lorry Shoppers look quite alike—creases, stains, and sun-fade included. Consider it a built-in conversation starter: where's this one been?
