Beth Donovan has been making things for Repurfect since before we were Repurfect. Her latest: a pair of 16" pillows, each constructed from bands of men's button-up shirts layered into a beach horizon — sand at the bottom, sea in the middle, sky above. Same concept, different light. Pillow 1, which we’re calling Sunrise, reads cooler, with blues, purples, and sage. Pillow 2, Sunset, runs warmer — reds, raspberries, and the last colors before dark. Both have zipper backs; Sunrise has a down insert, Sunset a fiber insert.

About Donovan Designs

Beth Donovan has been sewing all her life. As a child, she would take clothing apart to better understand how it was put together—a technique she still uses today. She makes her own patterns to create bags, pillows, mittens, and quilts from upcycled materials like denim jeans, coffee bags, button-front shirts, neckties, and wool sweaters.

Donovan Designs was the first local maker at Repurposed, joining us shortly after we opened. Because each of her creations is genuinely one-of-a-kind and therefore would need to be individually photographed before being sold on our website, we have many more Donovan Designs products in our Provincetown store than we have been able to list online.
